Modoc County Health Services
Public Health Emergency Preparedness

Modoc County Public Health has a critical role in Public Health disaster preparedness and response. We have been preparing for may years to respond to various types of emergencies in our county such as floods, extreme weather, H1N1, and foodbourne illnesses. Our response efforts include planning, surveillance, communications, and detection of communicable diseases, training, and education. Modoc County Public Health Emergency Preparedness Program works closely with other county agencies for planning, training, and education. Modoc County's goals during an emergency/disaster are to:

  1. Prepared: Pre-event planning
  2. Respond: Set objectives, priorities, public safety and address critical issues.
  3. Recover: Community Mitigation, restore critical infrastructure, coordinate, and resume operations.
