Prevention and Early Intervention Component: Our program of Developing Youth and Family Assets in Modoc County is in the early stages of implementation.  The program includes community asset-building for children and youth, a Primary Intervention Project jointly with local school districts, and a parenting education program for families.  Our 2009-2010 proposal is to increase the Prevention and Early Intervention Specialist position from part-time to full-time, to strengthen support for implementation of our activities with our partners.  In addition, asset building activities including suicide prevention training and referral, peer counseling, and culturally specific training for individuals working with families will be strengthened.
