Recent concern over the issuance
of septic permits and the acceptance of perc tests by this County has led to license clarification from the Contractors State
License Board.
As of February 1st, 2007 only the following
will be allowed to pull a septic permit:
1.
A- General Engineering
2. C-36 Plumbing
3. C-42 Sanitation Systems
4. Property owner
As of February
1st, 2007 all soil percolation testing conducted on existing parcels shall be performed by one of the following:
- A-General Engineering
- C-36 Plumbing
- C-42 Sanitation Systems
- Registered
Civil Engineer
- Registered Environmental Health Specialist
- Certified Soil Scientist
- Registered
Engineering Geologist
Soil profiles (i.e. eight(8) feet deep
backhoe excavations) are required to determine depth and composition of the soil and the distance to ground water when deemed
necessary by this department.
California Pines Subdivision requires
percolation tests and design of individual septic systems to be performed by a California Registered Civil Engineer.
A copy of the Contractors State License decision is in the office for review.
