The Modoc County Communicable
Disease Program is responsible for the surveillance and reporting of sum 85 different diseases and conditions, for investigation,
planning, and prevention, and addressing any circumstances of issues related to communicable diseases and the public health.
What
is the law?
The California Code
of Regulations, Title 17 (Section 2500) requires health professionals, medical providers, school officials, laboratories,
and others mandated to report approximately 85 conditions/diseases to local health departments.
Why must they
report?
- Protects
the health of the public.
- Provides
intervention rapidly when appropriate.
- Evaluates
risk of transmission.
- Determines
the extent of morbidity within the community
TB Testing is
offered every Tuesday, excluding holidays between 8:30-9:00am. Reads are on Thursday
between 8:30-9:00am. No appointments are necessary.
